Cuisines Provencale

We show in the pictures here the amazing transformation of a kitchen that was originally installed into our client’s home in the early 1980s.  We have placed the new design pictures adjacent to the old pictures, to highlight just what amazing improvements can be made!!  (Click on any of the pictures for a larger view.)

The fittings were very old and dated – a 1½ bowl stainless steel sink and a dated electric oven were combined with a refrigerator and a microwave.

The pantry was very, very old and looked as though it had been from an earlier kitchen and never upgraded – a totally impractical unit with glass sliding doors in the centre section.

The colour scheme was distasteful and the walls had been completely covered in wallpaper – totally impractical for a kitchen, causing the room to look dirty and shabby as the paper peeled in a great many places.

The design made poor use of the space available and several of the cupboards were difficult to access.

The far end of the kitchen had nothing built in and consisted merely of a couple of mismatched old cupboards that had certainly seen better times.

The floor had been tiled in slate – possibly attractive when first laid, but the job was done so poorly that there were many chips and cracks and the surface was pitted and dull – what had most likely been a lacquer finish had now become a shoddy mess! 

We can state categorically that this kitchen was a renovator’s delight!
